our camps
Our camps are ideal for children from 4 - 8 years of age and are designed to stimulate curiosity and inspire creativity through a range of art, craft, cooking and music projects. Whether they are carrying out giant science experiments, rehearsing a musical performance using home-made instruments or designing and building a giant cityscape from cardboard boxes, our experienced camp leaders guide children to build relationships, learn social skills, practise problem-solving and teamwork and above all, have fun! Drinks, snacks and lunch are provided and independent ‘what if’ thinking is strongly encouraged!
To reduce risk of transmission, camps will be organised into consistent ‘bubbles’ and as such, families may only make full session bookings (5 days), rather than choose individual days to join our camps. Please note, our camps will only proceed if we have sufficient weekly demand. In the event that we are unable to run a camp, parents will be notified at least 7 days prior to the camp start and a full refund will be issued.
See our FAQs for further details.
This half term, we’re inviting Big Kids to join us at Maggie & Rose Islington and Chiswick to learn all the secrets of being a superhero in our intensive Superhero Training School! Our busy timetable blends structured activities (listed below) with child-led play and mindfulness. Our Superhero Camp will support children to use their imaginations and immerse themselves in the theme while they experiment and explore the world around them. They’ll also be developing their understanding of themselves and their fellow superheroes as they make friends and collaborate!
Each day at camp starts with some time to settle in, get to know each other and prepare for the day. After their first craft project, campers break for lunch and some time to let off steam in our play areas, followed by their afternoon activities. Before pick-up there'll be time to pursue individual interests and reflect on the day together.
Our budding superheroes will create their own superhero alter-egos, craft their costumes, capes and essential tools and challenge their bodies with physical activities designed to build super strength, balance and flexibility. They’ll cook up some delicious, healthy recipes to fuel their super missions, explore music and instruments to inspire their own theme tunes and together build a giant cityscape to fly above!
In our Chiswick clubhouse, Big Kids will be based in our Bus but will move around the club throughout each day, including time spent in our play area, treehouse and on our Roof Terrace! They’ll also go out to stretch their superhero legs in local green spaces during the week.
In our Islington clubhouse, Big Kids will be based in their own ‘home’ room but will move around the club throughout each day, including time spent in our play area. They’ll also go out to stretch their superhero legs in local green spaces during the week.

How are you making it safe for children to attend camps?

The well-being of our team and our member community is paramount and we have put in place a number of measures to ensure a COVID safe environment for your children :

Social distancing, including
– pre-booked sessions in same weekly ‘bubble’
– we will continue to maintain excellent staff / children ratios and each bubble will be allocated two staff members who will remain with them throughout the week
– parents will not be allowed to enter the club at drop-off; our team will welcome each child and settle them to the camp area
– children may not bring toys or other items from home

Increased sanitisation and cleaning
– attendees will be required to sanitise hands upon entry and regular hand-washing will be encouraged throughout the day
– increased cleaning shifts, including between sessions
– sanitisation stations
– removal of hard to clean toys and furnishings

We will also be monitoring both children’s and team temperatures during camps.

When will camps run?

Camp sessions will run Monday 31st May to Friday 4th June 2021.

Camps will start at 10.30am and finish at 4.00pm. Early drop-off and late pick-up options are also available.

In order to reduce risk of transmission we must keep children within consistent ‘bubbles’ throughout the week, as they currently are within nursery/school. This will mean that we can only accept full week bookings, rather than being able to choose specific days each week.

Will you offer a refund if the camp has to be cancelled?

In the event that we need to cancel a camp session due to lack of demand or government-imposed guidelines, a full refund will be provided.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

We ask that you provide us with a minimum of 48hrs’ notice should you need to cancel your camp booking. Cancellation of bookings will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances, such as a child needing to isolate due to Covid-19 and upon receipt of a Dr’s note.

What happens if it rains?

We have adequate undercover space to continue camps should weather become inclement.

What happens if someone shows symptoms of COVID-19

We ask that any child who is unwell remains at home and does not attend camp. We will monitor children and staff closely for any symptoms of coronavirus. This will include daily temperature checks.

As per current government guidelines, should a team member or a child within the bubble contract Covid-19 or display symptoms of the virus, they will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. We will, of course, offer credit or a refund for any days missed upon receipt of a Dr’s note.
