Frequently asked questions

We’ve created some FAQs to help you get the most out of your Book Adventurers experience.

What is Book Adventurers?

Book Adventurers is a children’s book club which offers not only carefully curated picture books, but also exclusive author and illustrator content and a set of digital classes carefully themed around the stories we share.

Our digital classes are designed to provide learning through play opportunities for families to explore books, and the themes they focus on, together.  We provide guidance to parents/carers on how to make the most of the digital content, and how to talk with children about some of the themes raised in the books.

Children have the opportunity to submit any thoughts, ideas or creations inspired by their membership of Book Adventurers, and these submissions may be included in our ‘wrap party’ digital class.

What age group is Book Adventurers for?

The Summer Book Adventure is suitable for children aged 3-7 years, although many older children will also enjoy the books, themes and classes.

As parents, you know your little ones best so it’s always a good idea to read the books first to ensure that they are appropriate for your child.

What kind of topics will the books cover?

The Summer Book Adventure theme is ‘Deep Blue Sea’ and covers a range of topics to do with the sea, including plastic pollution.

One of the titles, Ocean Meets Sky, also touches on the loss of a grandparent, and we provide guidance on how to discuss this topic with your little ones.

How were the books selected?

The two books were selected by Maggie & Rose editorial staff, supported by Early Years specialists.

Do you provide support for parents on how to discuss the topics with their child?

Yes, there are tips for adults on discussing the topics covered in the classes, as well as additional activities that you can do with your child and ways to make the most of reading together.

What are the benefits of the Book Adventurers digital content?

The Book Adventurers digital content has been devised by digital specialists in conjunction with early years teachers, and is designed to help young children make the most of their screen time.

Can I subscribe just to the digital content and buy the books myself?

You have two options when purchasing our Deep Blue Sea package.

  1. Complete package £19.99: Two paperback books and access to our digital classes.
  2. Digital-only package £8.99: Access to our digital classes only (useful if you already own the books, or wish to borrow them from the library).

My child would like to send you their book review / artwork – can I do this?

We love seeing what our young Book Adventurers have been creating and are always looking for member content to showcase in our end of the month book ‘wrap’ party. Once you’ve signed up to Book Adventurers, please visit StoryBook HQ and you will see instructions on how to send us your child’s creations.

You can always send us an email to

What if I have kids of different ages?

We’ve designed our book club activities and book choices to be most suitable for children of 3 to 7 years, but we also know that there will be lots of content which will be attractive and appropriate for older children as well. There will always be guidance included on what is age appropriate and what your child may need more grown-up help with.
