Sous Chef’s play a vital role at Maggie & Rose. They are responsible for feeding everyone in our Clubs from the fussiest tummies to the adults who love eating the freshest and tastiest plates in the local area.
They will be the epitome of our brand values of; support and nurture, think visually, be extraordinary and inspire creativity and you will express them through your interactions with your team and through the plates being served through the kitchen.
They love nothing more than to be surrounded by seasonal fresh produce, a like minded food-loving team and diners who return time and time again because the food coming out f the kitchen is so tasty.

= Completely immersed in all aspects of running a business kitchen; great food, prepared by an engaged kitchen brigade all done with commerciality in mind
= Passionate about food, share their enthusiasm and standards with their brigade

= Creative and inspired when it comes to delivering food for our nursery and children food, considering seasonality, nutrition, allergens and margin
= Able to manage their key stakeholders, liaising with the relevant suppliers for food orders and delivering on or under budget
= Collaborative and will work alongside the Head of F&B to create new dishes and menus and options for our members
= Expert brigade leaders – they recognise that their team need to deliver to their own high standards and support and nurture them to reach operational excellence
= Responsible for recruiting and training new brigade members with the support of the Head of F&B and the HR team
= Financially savvy – able to demonstrate commercial decision making and keep costs under budget whilst never compromising on quality
= Responsible for monitoring and controlling stock levels with a focus on food standards and wastage.
= Experienced in food purchasing, storage and maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
= Stock rotation procedures will come naturally to you
= The Health and Safety Gurus in their domain as well as attentive to other areas of the business where H&S could be compromised.
= Responsible for planning and rotas for their team
= Collaborative with the Club Team – they take a one team approach, maintaining a focus on Member experience across the Club
= Able to deliver creative new recipes and deliver menus that represent the F&B ethos of Maggie & Rose
= Flexible – they love all aspects of the kitchen and will happily work all sections of the kitchen
What types of experiences will you have had before and what are your strengths?
= You will have a passion for great produce and a willingness to learn new dishes
= Have solid experience at Head Chef level, preferably from a high street branded group working with fresh produce
= You will have run a brigade before and your style will be supportive and nurturing
= Flexible in your approach and willing to engage with non-kitchen staff to deliver the Maggie & Rose experience
= Confident and willing to step out from behind the pass to talk to members about food and your passion for creating great dishes
